Interview With Queen MC

Hailing from South Carolina, Mercedes Arline, also known to her fans as Queen MC gained notoriety when she and her fellow group members became the nationally known Trans group known as Street Queens. The group’s first smash hit, “Bad B**** Alert” took off and set the group on the road to success; however, Queen MC wanted more and decided to separate herself from the group and become a solo artist. While continuing to perfect her craft and create music, Queen MC also created a non-profit organization called S.L.U.T, which stands for safety, love, unity, and trust.

Check out the interview with Queen MC.

How did you get the name Queen MC?

Queen MC: I got the name Queen MC from my uncles. When I was little, they would call me “Run” after Run DMC, so when I started rapping, I just said, Queen MC fits perfectly.

Tell us about your non-profit organization, S.L.U.T.

Queen MC: S.L.U.T. is something I came up with to bring awareness to safe sex and self-love.

How did the collaboration with L’Dior Beauty come about?

Queen MC: I collaborated with this company because it’s black-owned, and my cousin is the founder. I believe in generational wealth and family being apart of your brand.

What sets your line of lip products apart from the rest?

Queen MC: What sets my brand apart from others is I’m very detailed and hands-on with everything and it’s very diverse; it’s for all ages.

What’s the website where your products can be purchased?

Queen MC: You will be able to purchase early spring on L’Dior Beauty this spring. Stay Tuned in 2021.

What do you hope to achieve by relocating from South Carolina to Miami?

Queen MC: My move is definitely for me to network, put my brand out there, and see where it takes me. Going to the top is a must. I have a lot more coming with new music and videos.
