Mover and Shaker Anje Collins Talks Luxury Shoe Line

With 30 years of experience under her belt, veteran publicist Anje Collins is using her rolodex of media connections to pioneer the next generation of women in PR. She has worked with an extensive list of celebrity clientele, including artists such as Pink, Outkast, Usher, and Linkin Park.

Anje has also catapulted into starting her own luxury shoe lines.

Check out the interview below.

How did you get to the force you are today?

Anje: By working hard and never giving up.

Tell us about your new Coco & Blue Collective.

Anje: If you know me, you know I love all things luxury. I noticed that there was a severe void of luxury in the African American market and with all my newfound downtime, it was a perfect time to create something I can call my own. All designs are custom and made from the finest quality material all throughout. The women’s line is made in Turkey, meanwhile, the men’s line is crafted in Italy and Spain by talented craftsmen with decades of shoe-making experience. It was really important for me to dedicate all my shoes to individuals who’ve made an influential impact in my life.

I recently launched another shoe brand, Coco Blue Shoes. I understand that not everyone can afford luxury shoes, so I created the affordable shoe line so that people can feel luxurious without breaking their pockets. The line features a wide array of styles and accessories– from super sexy statement pieces to ultra-cozy vibes. I want all my projects to be a reflection of my life, so all items are named after cities that I’ve either lived in or absolutely loved.

What motivated you to start a luxury shoe line during a pandemic?

Anje: Before the pandemic, I fell and broke my ankle and was on bed rest for 6 months, and then the pandemic hit. So, it gave me time to think about what I really wanted to do. While I still wanted to focus on my organization, Women in PR, I mainly wanted to just sit down and do me for once.

Where can your items be purchased?

Anje: You can shop the Coco and Blue Collective online here. You can also shop my newest and more affordable line, Coco Blue Shoes, here.

You co-founded the organization and popular social media group Women In PR. Let’s talk about Women In PR, how it started, and where it’s going.

Anje: Women in PR started with Tammy Attmore (RIP) in 2011 to educate young ladies in the real world of PR. Out of that came memberships, summits, webinars, and now virtual summits.  Next month we celebrate 10 years.

What are some of the biggest successes of Women In PR?

Anje: Watching these ladies go from students to running their own agencies.

What does your typical day look like?

Anje: It starts with me getting up at 4:30 am to walk my fur babies Jojo and Cooper and from there, it’s answering a million emails, and then who knows how my day is going to end up. I have a lot of crazy busy days.

What’s up next for you?

Anje: My next project is definitely going to be my dog couture line, Swaggy Pet Couture. It will be a sustainable fashionable dog wear line.
