Meet Felicia Cartwright-Founder of Masculine Female Clothing Brand

Established in March 2021, Masculine Female Clothing Brand, LLC was founded by Felicia “Fee-Fee” Cartwright from Dallas, TX and designed by Angel Chavis, a native of Charleston, SC. A size-inclusive LGBTQ clothing line, imperfectly empowering women in the urban community and abroad. With a keen eye for new fashion ideas, Felicia is overwhelmingly thrilled to introduce her new brand to the world.

Check out the interview below:

Tell us about your background?

Felicia: Being a newcomer to the fashion industry, I must say that I don’t have much of a background. Being a lesbian, I knew I wanted to make a brand specific to the LGBTQ community.

What led you to the fashion industry?

Felicia: Honestly, the idea for Masculine Female came to me in a dream. It was something I manifested on, wrote down some ideas, and together, Angel and I made it happen. Angel is the Designer. She sketched some color schemes on some apps on her phone, showed them to me, and we took off from there.

What is your favorite part about being the founder of a clothing brand?

Felicia: My favorite part about being the founder is seeing my friends/family supporting and wearing my brand. It came to me in a dream so to see it in real life is a blessing.

What makes your clothing brand so unique?

Felicia: What makes us unique is that we offer full color customization for each customer–something that most brands can’t and don’t offer. We have the ability to change the color scheme for any piece of clothing. From shorts sets, T-shirts, backpacks, etc… you tell me what color scheme best fits you and we’ll make it happen. I also like the flexibility as the founder and owner. Flexibility allows me to be as creative as I want to be with my brand.

How do you stay up-to-date on fashion trends?

Felicia: We stay up-to-date on fashion trends by staying active on social media such as Instagram, TikTok, and reading fashion blogs.

What motivates you?

Felicia: My motivation comes from my mom who has been an entrepreneur most of her life. And also, my grandma who is a Seamstress with 7 Degrees. She can make anything out of anything, something out of nothing, a lot from a little. My other motivation is money–something that should motivate everyone.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Felicia: In 5 years, I want to see my brand on Billboards, spreading love across major cities. Masculine Female is a brand that allows you to be yourself and be free. The world needs to see us.
