Check out the interview with Crystal Jones-Thompson.

What is the name of your company and what does your company do?

Crystal: The name of my business is called A Click Away Virtual Assisting.  A Click Away Virtual Assisting is ready to help churches and non-profits with various administrative tasks. We aim to save churches and non-profits hours during the week and provide the solutions they are looking for. They assist churches with social media management, digital marketing, website creation, management, and many other tasks needed to reach the masses.

How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Crystal: The concept for A Click Away Virtual Assisting came from being a member of a church during the pandemic. The doors of our church were forced to close, but our Pastor still wanted to connect with the members. Since I’m technically savvy, he asked me to start live streaming our service and engage with our church members via our social media platforms…and it worked!  However, I noticed our neighboring churches weren’t as fortunate and I want to help them during this pandemic.

What was the mission when you first started?

Crystal: Our mission is to partner with churches and organizations and provide elite support by alleviating them of small tasks so they can grow their visibility and elevate their ministry to new heights.  A Click Away Virtual Assisting is ready to help your church and non-profit with various administrative tasks. We can save you hours during the week and provide the solutions you are looking for.

Knowing what you know now, is there anything you would have done differently when you were first starting out?

Crystal: I’m still a new business, so I’m still trying to see what works and what doesn’t. If changes need to be made to the operation of A Click Away, I have no problem readjusting and trying something new.

What is unique about your business?

Crystal: I’m a Virtual Administrator, so I rarely see my clients face to face. Most of our communication is via email. Our target audiences are small churches and non-profits who don’t have a strong social media presence.

What have you enjoyed most about starting your own company?

Crystal: A Click Away Virtual Assisting is the start of something new!  It’s scary but exciting at the same time. Being able to communicate and engage with so many new people has been great, and some awesome working partnerships are being established.

What advice would you give someone who wants to become an entrepreneur?

Crystal: Do your research. Stay true to yourself and your goals. Block out outside distractions and doubters. Surround yourself with positive people. Go big or go home!

How do you define success?

Crystal: Success to me is staying true and loyal to myself, my goals, my brand, and always improving.  The definition of success is different for everyone, but I always confide in God and ask him to order my steps and align my goals with his.

What do you believe are the qualities of a good entrepreneur?

Crystal: In my opinion, a good entrepreneur should be resilient because downfalls and failures will happen, but you must be able to learn from them and bounce back. A good entrepreneur should also be goal-oriented, flexible, a multitasker, customer service-focused, and authentic to themselves and the clients they serve.
