Tell us about Greedy in The City

Jae: Greedy In The City is a food curated series that focuses on connecting women through cocktails, conversations, and cuisines. The series is comprised of intimate tasting tables, culinary travel, and virtual events.

What motivated you to create Greedy in the City?

Jae: Greedy In The City was created out of necessity. I became aware very early on in my food blogger journey that there were no culinary events that catered specifically to my demographic of women. I also noticed the lack of diversity that sat at the dinner tables when being invited to media events.

I knew that I truly wanted to create the table instead of waiting for the invitation. I wanted to truly create a culinary experience that not only introduced women to new foods but also new bonds and relationships.

I also love everything about creating a sisterhood. I knew that if I enjoyed dining out and experiencing different food and cocktails, there had to be other women who loved it too.

What types of food are usually in the food boxes?

Jae: The Greedy In The City curated boxes feature products that are edible and usable. The majority of the products are created by black-owned brands. The first box, “The Brunchaholic” Box, features your favorite brunch items like pancake/waffle mix, syrup, fruit preserves, and french toast seasoning.

What are your favorite foods?

Jae: Such a loaded question. Seafood, burgers with lots of bacon (that’s important), Mexican, and Italian.

What are foods that you don’t like?

Jae: I don’t like soup, and I don’t eat applesauce.

How often are the Greedy in The City events? How can someone find more info on upcoming events?

Jae: Well, pre-covid, the events were bi-monthly. Now that we are facing different times. I am transitioning to launching virtual events through social media and my website www.greedyinthecity.com.

Where are the events usually held?

Jae: The events were usually held various restaurants. One of the goals of GITC was to highlight restaurants through a series of intimate tasting tables.

What else is in store for you?

Jae: More foodie fun. I plan to launch digital products along with my current products that are available on my site. To gain more partnerships with food & spirit brands and create more opportunities.
