MAMA! Prepare For ‘Pandammick’ Album Release

MTGTB! (Mama! There Goes That Band) is a production collaborative made up of longtime friends and music comrades Markovic Drummond, Ajay Boyd, and Sidney Howard. The eclectic group of musicians is set to debut their album ‘Pandammick’ on DJC Radio Global Records, based out of Brooklyn, NY.

The 14-track album serves as a kaleidoscope of multi-genre arrangements and creations from soul and jazz, funk and rock, as well as R&B and Hip Hop. The contemporary blends mixed with driven horns, drums, bass, and electrifying guitar strumming are sure to draw audiences in, and not knowingly, remedy the generation gap in Hip Hop.

We Can Make It, an inspiring song, sets the album off. Reminding us that we can make it if we keep trying, no goal is unattainable. Simply begin by letting go and lifting your head to the sky. The remix of We Can Make It offers a more upbeat tempo that truly steers the uplifting message. Continuing with an upbeat flow is XL$ (I Wear an Extra-Large Cash) and is a fun and catchy song. Whether we refer to money as dinero, bread, cheddar, cabbage, etc., it’s all enticing the same, and the bigger the size, the more to fill.

One of the most electrifying songs from the album is Pandammick! (What Is Free To You?). Thought-provoking rhymes allow us to decipher what free is to us…as freedom varies from body to body, mind to mind, and soul to soul. Now They Know offers mystique and somewhat mesmerizing R&B sounds. The song speaks of true love and the need to be around someone. It celebrates turning new pages and new chapters.

A standout song from the album You Don’t Know Me, is also offered in Spanish and as a reprise that embodies the impeccable arrangement of instruments. The horns and bass alone are enough to revive empty souls.  The song is brimming with esteemed empowerment, determination, and inner strength. Even when noses turn up, there’s no defeat just motivation to build a legacy. The song from beginning to end provides gems and jewels that cannot be appraised.

A Few Things I Like switches the ambiance back to R&B, that authentic heart racing and body pulsating R&B. Being intrigued by a woman’s smile, her castle of a being, captivating beauty, but most importantly an inner splendor that shines. For A Few Things For You is a woman’s point of view of what she likes…Drawn by dignity and dreams of a life together, there’s no more hiding from feelings or emotions.

Cosmic jazz vibes can be felt in Tell Me. People are quick to tell us things that we already know, but what can they share that we don’t know? Life is not a yes/ no stadium and if we stand tall, we can be free of confinement.

A promise of forever is declared in Stay, another heartfelt song. A vow not to take love for granted and a plea that is sure to raise neck hairs and stimulate the senses. The song transcends listeners back when music could be felt as cries and emotions on sleeves.

Another standout song is Best Shot and can be noted as the album’s anthem. Best Shot Part 1 begins with pulsating claps and cinematic tones which amplify the spoken word/invigorating rhymes. It’s time to carry the team on backs and put cities on the map. With ice filling veins you must do the work and move on to the next one. Although you envision intense moves on the b-ball court, Best Shot mimics how we move personally and professionally in this game we call life. Best Shot Part 2 Is My Next Shot Now The Whole Story, does just that. A story of being cut from a different cloth and knocking everyone else out of the bracket. The infectiously fresh rhymes remind us to be original and not boxed in.

Overall, the album impresses with dexterity to reign on multi-genre independent charts. The tracks are arranged and driven by a gripping whirlpool of instruments with cascades of profound emotion.
