What sets you apart from other competitors in your industry?

Felicia: I have no competitors. I don’t just crochet, I create art. I like to call it my version of crochet artistry. My attention to detail is untouchable. My speed is unheard of and my tailoring is incomparable.

Why are you called the Duchess of Crochet?

Felicia: I call myself the Duchess of Crochet because I am Crochet Royalty and that’s how every one of my clients feel when they wear a piece of mine.

What inspired you to pursue this industry?

Felicia: My mother inspired me to pursue the fashion industry. She knew I had a talent in fashion when she would bring home scrap faux fur fabric from her job and I would create coats and suits from it. Also, when the fashion styles changed from year to year or from the decade, my mother taught me how to use her sewing machine to recreate a pair of pants from bell-bottoms to skinny leg pants. When my friends saw what I did, they asked me to redo their clothing and that’s when my entrepreneur skills came into play.

Tell us about your journey of getting where you are today.

Felicia: My journey at times is easy because I know what my gifts and talents are. I knew what I wanted to do or be in my fashion career, but the hard part was making it happen throughout the years. From getting the accolades from some of my peers to knocking on doors that wouldn’t allow me to enter, has not only given me the strength, courage, and determination. but the bravery to continue pressing on towards my destiny today.

Tell us about the challenges you faced and how you overcame them.

Felicia: I remember a time when I lost who Felicia Dietrich really is because of the way I was treated. It made me hold back whatever gifts and talents I have. After a lot of soul searching, tears, sleepless nights, and support from my cheerleaders (family). With all the mental and physical preparation, I know now who Felicia Dietrich really is, what she means, what she is here for, and what she will leave.

What would you say are your biggest accomplishments?

Felicia: My biggest accomplishment is getting my brand to what it is today with the expert skills and knowledge from Chance 436 Design Studios. This company has literally changed my fashion life. Chance 436 Design Studios even taught me to skills to maintain some areas within my brand on my own. I was also recognized by Oprah Winfrey.
