Unlocking the Vault

Aviah E. Singh, 11-year-old Author, New book ” Be You. Be Cool. Be Kind.

Aviah is an energetic and outgoing 11-year-old who at a young age has started to build her legacy. Join her on January 30th for her book launch. She would like her readers to learn how to deal with a bully and how not to be a bully as she shares her own elementary school experiences as examples to depict the meaning of her title. Each experience is accompanied by a thoughtful question and prayer, so her readers can apply these simple life lessons to always practice kindness.

You are 11-years-old launching a new book. Have you always had dreams of being an author?

Yes, because when my mother started writing her book, I felt really inspired to write my own.

How important is journaling?

I love journaling. It’s very important to me because when you journal you can look to see how you’ve improved on the stuff you’ve done. The advice I would have for young people is to start journaling TODAY and try to journaling about stuff that they are planning to do in the future.

Share your strengths.

I feel one of my greatest strengths is being kind to others. It’s important to treat others the way you want to be treated. Some of my other strengths I would say are: I never give up, I work hard and try to do my best in every area of my life.

Tell us about your new book, Be You. Be Cool. Be Kind.

I’m super excited about this book. The reason why I chose the title is because the book is about my personal events which occurred in school and I tried to show how to be kind to others. For the title, when I say “BE YOU”, that means to be you. Don’t put your fake self out there, put your real self out there. “BE COOL” means that it’s a cool thing to be kind to others. “BE KIND” to others speaks for itself. I would describe the overall book as good advice on how to treat others. How to be kind to everyone you come across everyday.

Do you have a favorite passage?

Definitely! My favorite passage in my book is the “SPEAK KIND WORDS” part. I like this passage because when the boy in my class made fun of my teeth in first grade, I just stood up for myself and I didn’t care what he had to say. I walked away. I didn’t make him feel bad in return, but I did not allow his negative words to make me feel bad. Many people don’t know how to walk away from negative words and allow those words to get a hold of them. I wanted to share the importance and the power of our words in this passage.

What was the hardest part of writing your own book? How did you overcome the challenges?

There really wasn’t a hard part to writing my book. I really enjoyed sharing my stories. I would say that the one hardest part of writing the book was typing it on the computer. I had to ask my mom to type it for me.

How excited are you about your book launch?

I am SUPER NERVOUS, but very excited. I hope that many kids my age will be able to get the book and begin using the stories to help them in their own lives.
