Can you tell us a bit about your role as Ms. Patty in the upcoming episode of Alert: Missing Persons Unit?

Miss Patty is a no-nonsense block captain in Philadelphia. She’s a woman who cares deeply about her neighborhood and about order. There are, however, many layers to Ms Patty. Over the course of the episode, we discover more about her than one might’ve initially assumed.

What drew you to this particular character and storyline?

The writing by Daniel Iman was exceptional. There’s humor and suspense. There’s tenderness and brutality. And overall, it’s a story well told. Ms. Patty herself is the kind of role any actor would love to play. She has so many levels. It was a real treat to be in her skin. And the opportunity to reunite with Director extraordinaire, Oz Scott was just too good to pass up.

How did you prepare for your role as Ms. Patty, especially considering the nature of the plot?

With this kind of role, you can really only prepare so much. You have to be in the moment and react as the character accordingly. Without giving any spoilers away, there are aspects of certain scenes that I did need to research in order to be truthful in my representation.

What was it like working alongside Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez, and the rest of the cast on Alert: Missing Persons Unit?

It was awesome! They are all such lovely people. I had a scene with Scott and Ryan, and then the next day I had a scene with Dania. You can tell why the show is such a hit and why their chemistry on screen is so lovely. It’s because off-screen, they are all just as lovely. Intelligent kind, talented, and welcoming, it was a pleasure to be in their company and to work on their set. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit is known for its gripping and suspenseful narratives. What can viewers expect from this episode?

They can expect nothing less. In this episode, Ms. Patty is abducted while on her neighborhood watch. The MPU springs into action to find out why and by whom, and to do everything in their efforts to bring her home safely. The episode is packed with drama and suspense.

As a seasoned actress with an extensive resume, how does your experience on Alert: Missing Persons Unit compare to other projects you’ve worked on?

I love the physicality of this role. There is a lot of action on the show and to be involved in the action sequences was so much fun. You don’t always get to use the things you’ve learned in stage combat. But the stunts on this show allowed me to really dip into my old bag of tricks, I even learned a few new ones.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit often explores complex social issues while delivering compelling drama. Can you speak to any themes or messages viewers might take away from this particular episode?

There’s definitely a lot to take away from this episode. What strikes each viewer will be different though. There are so many themes that can potentially resonate. I know that for me, the power of love is what shines through. Can’t wait to see what moves others.

What do you hope audiences will remember most about your portrayal of Ms. Patty and her role in Alert: Missing Persons Unit?

Ms. Patty don’t take no guff.

What else do you have coming up?

As always, my continuing role as Mayor Goodway on “Paw Patrol.” I’ll be making my Stratford Festival debut this summer in “Get That Hope“, by award-winning playwright Andrea Scott, from July 21 to September 28. And I’ll be appearing as Nancy, in “All the Lost Ones”, on Paramount+.
