Meet Kiandra Davis, Founder of Kreative Kandle

Kiandra Davis is the founder of Kreative Candle Co. and is currently residing in Seattle, Washington. She turned her love of burning candles into a thriving business in the middle of COVID-19.

Check out the interview below.

What inspired you to start Kreative Candle Co.?

Kiandra: I started Kreative Candle during the Covid-19 pandemic. I’ve always had a passion for candles, and while sitting at home I thought to myself “I’m creative! Why not learn how to make candles?” I began by making a few candles, and that led to me wanting to start a business. Shortly after I got my LLC, Kreative Candle was established in August of 2020. It brings me great joy seeing people enjoy my candles. I love knowing that my candles are making a positive impact in homes all over the country.

What scents of candles are currently available?

Kiandra:

1. “Me Time”-A blend of herbs, lavender, and aromatic woods. Sage, rosemary, and chamomile awaken the earthiness of lavender, while hints of sandalwood and cedar in the base are reinforced by clove, lavender, and cedarwood essential oils.

2. Island Vibes-This fruity scent begins with ripe pineapple, orange, and apple for a super juicy first impression. Middle notes of succulent melon and creamy coconut add to the beachy aroma, while light jasmine notes give it a subtle floral quality. The rum base note turns this fruity fusion into a cocktail with a touch of vanilla that rounds out this delicious fragrance.

3. Serenity- This fragrance starts with bright top notes of lemon, crisp apple, and ozone. Middle notes of delicate jasmine and white cotton blossoms add a floral touch to this airy fragrance. Hints of violet and cedar round out the scent, while lemon essential oil enhances the clean, citrus element.

4. Sweet Enough-This fragrance is fruity without being too sweet. The brightness of the ripe black raspberries is well balanced by a mellow and natural vanilla note, making this a versatile, all-year fragrance.

5. Simply Blu-Simply Blu sweeps you away to the coast on fresh, aquatic winds. This well-rounded fragrance marries the notes of salty ozone with the aromas of fresh citrus. The luscious honeydew melon blends with a trace of violet in the heart of this marine fragrance.

6. Desert Life-Sweet agave and watery aloe enhance the fresh-cut green leaves and chrysanthemum petals, while base notes of patchouli ground it with a pleasing earthiness.

What have been the biggest successes of your business?

Kiandra: Kreative Candle Co. was launched last August in the pandemic of Covid-19. With many restrictions throughout the world, I managed to be one of the top vendors at my local farmers market. We have also shipped to 27 states. Lastly, I was given the opportunity to be the official Candle for New Mexico State University.

How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

Kiandra: I will say with being an entrepreneur and also working full time, you have to manage your time wisely. Sometimes you can have a lot on your plate but you have to remember to prioritize the things that matter first, which is family.

What was the main driving force to become an entrepreneur?

Kiandra: For years I always dreamt of owning my own business. With my strong will and creativity, I just knew I would be great. I was motivated to prove myself right. The more I prayed, the more God gave me wisdom and insight on how to start. That was my driving force.

What have been your greatest challenges, and how did you manage them?

Kiandra: There are many things I had to learn when I started Kreative Candle. There were some days that were smooth, and others that were the opposite. The key for me was learning from my mistakes and celebrating any type of success. It’s my goal to be an inspiration to anyone that has aspirations of becoming an entrepreneur. I want to show people that you can do anything you set your mind to do, no matter what obstacles may occur. If you can come up with an idea, then it can be brought to life. Your vision is where it all starts, and how you can make it into something big.

What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

Kiandra: My favorite part about being an entrepreneur is that I have full control of the company. My mind is full of creative ideas, and as an entrepreneur, I have the ability to try new things out, and I love that.
