Check out the interview with Chundria Brownlow as she talks about her debut film.

What inspired you to create this film?

Chundria: I was inspired to create this film because I am a big fan of love stories, romantic comedies, and reality dating shows. Creating this film gave me an opportunity to develop characters we could all relate to in some way, whether we’re on a pathway to love or even self-love.

Did you always want to be a filmmaker?

Chundria: No, I did not always want to be a filmmaker. As a child, I was interested in becoming a meteorologist someday. As a teen, I visited a TV news station and was intrigued by all of the moving parts of studio production, from the cameras to the control room. That newfound passion for media stuck with me and I enrolled in a high summer video production class at my college. From there, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Television, Production, Directing, and studio production. I’ve actually been hosting and producing my own TV Talk Show called The Chundria Show for years now. Now that I’m producing my first film, all of those valuable skills I learned in college are still being utilized.

What kind of person is going to love this film?

Chundria: My fellow lovers of romantic comedies will definitely love Dare To Love. However, this movie will be enjoyable for everyone from the single to the daters to the married. It will speak to the dreamers and entrepreneurs who are motivated by their passions. It will speak to the lovers who cultivate love every day, and it will touch the hearts of singles too.

Who in the film is most like their character?

Chundria: Morgan Renee is most like her character Charisma. They are both very young, smart, educated women. They are also deeply passionate when it comes to love, relationships, and also the arts. Charisma, the lead character, is a freelance writer, while Morgan is an actress in real life.

What was your most favorite part about doing this production?

Chundria: COVID-19 prompted us to use Zoom for auditions, rehearsals, and meetings. My favorite part about this production was working on set in person with my amazing cast and crew. It was incredible to direct a crew that brought positivity, high energy, professionalism, and creativity to the set every day.

How long did it take to film?

Chundria: I filmed the 13 scenes of the movie in 3 production days.

Did you ever experience writer’s block when you were writing the script? If so, what did you do to overcome it?

Chundria: Yes, I experienced writer’s block while working on the script for Dare To Love. I created an outline for the movie prior to writing, which helped to keep me on track. Whenever I was stuck on a certain part of the dialogue or scene, I would disconnect from the project for a short period of time. When I returned hours or even a day later, I would review the script from the beginning along with the outline, and I was successfully able to continue writing to the end.

How can everyone watch “Dare to Love?”

Chundria: Dare to Love will be available to watch on my website at www.cbrownlowmedia.com/daretolove on Saturday, February 13, 2021, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
